Inaugural Blog – Andrea Savas
Sure I know what a blog is, after all it’s not a new concept and working in the technology field it’s a term I have heard many times, but never gave much thought about what was involved in starting and maintaining a blog. So here I am preparing to write my first blog, launching the first ever Dynamic Campus blog and realized that I really should educate myself a bit more on the art of blogging. When the average consumers fire up their Web browsers to do some power shopping online, imagine what would happen if they landed on your website and had trouble locating the products they were looking for? What would happen if your customers wanted to purchase $500 worth of merchandise but could not locate their “shopping cart” or, worse yet, they could not figure out how to log in to make a secure payment because the payment instructions weren’t clear? When you begin to discuss Text Messaging at Colleges or Universities, the first thought that comes to mind is Emergency Notifications. Recent tragedies and national disasters are certainly driving most institutions to pursue efficient and timely communication solutions that can quickly reach each student, regardless of their location, both on or off campus. The most effective tool associated with emergency notifications today is the use of Text Messaging to student’s cell phones. Cell phone usage has grown in exponential rates and it is quite apparent that text messaging is the preferred mode of communication in teens and young adults. Read the rest of this entry »
